Therapeutic Orientation:
My philosophy follows the idea that people are sometimes led from the paths that would allow
them to live the best life possible for them. My goal is to help individuals find ways to accept
those events, incorporate them into their lives and then progress onward by taking their next
step. I approach each client with one question in mind: How may I help this person to take the
next step to improve his or her life? Everything follows from the answer to that question.

B.A. in Psychology, University of Central Oklahoma 1980

--Experience:
I am the daughter of a career Air Force sergeant and the spouse of a retired Air Force NCO. I am
a world traveler and have lived in California, Oklahoma, Massachusetts, the Philippines, and
Germany, as well as Washington state.
I have counseled business supervisors for the Federal Government as an Employee
Development Specialist, and counseled military families and the general citizenry as a counselor
for the American Red Cross. I have 10 years experience as a community mental health
counselor. My oldest client was 80; my youngest was 3. I have taught parenting classes, study
skills to college students, and helped successful people take their next steps in life.
I currently write a monthly counseling column for the Auburn and Sumner Reporters.
